Romsey is our beautiful hometown and where we started this wonderful Artisan Makers Market journey. Romsey is a market town in Hampshire in Southern England. Romsey began as a Saxon village. The Danes burnt Romsey Abbey in 993 but it was soon rebuilt. Later a market began outside the abbey gates and Romsey grew into a town. In the early 12th century Henry I (1100-1135) gave the people of Romsey a charter (a document granting the townspeople certain rights). The charter confirmed the town's right to hold a market on Sunday. Romsey was home to Lord Palmerston in the 19th Century and to Lord Louis Mountbatten - (cousin to the Queen) He died in 1979 but his family still take up residence in Broadlands estate.
Our Markets are held every Sunday 10am until 3pm on The Palmertson Marketplace Piazza and The Corn Market

December 6th is our last market of the year in Romsey- we hope you'll join us
