Create a selection of willow items to decorate your home and
garden, a lovely introduction to willow sculpture for anyone wishing to make a
couple of small items. And a great way to connect with family and friends via a
virtual workshop space.
Choose 1 or 2 items to make during this workshop. Items
include flowers dragonflies, butterflies, bird feeders, bees, fish, hearts, Christmas
decorations and more!
1. Create in your own time with an online video
tutorial, these are suitable for individuals
2. Join me for a 3 -hour workshop taught via Zoom, I provide the option for individuals or small groups and is a great way to spend time with family and friends and are suitable for small groups of 2-6 households ( minimum 3 attendees) Please note the cost of attending for more than 3 people is reduced to £60 per person, please contact me if you want to do this option)
The workshops are suitable for teenagers, adults, and children with adult support, you will need to have good hand dexterity and strength.
Please note that the fee is per person for each of the
I will send you the willow that you need to complete the
project and a document with instructions on how to prepare the willow in
advance of the workshop as well as some hints and tips etc. Please note that
you will need to allow time for the willow to be delivered, and to soak the
willow (2 -6 days)
What you will need
1. Online video workshop – A computer or tablet
with access to the internet
2. Zoom workshop – A computer or tablet with access
to the internet camera and microphone.
A pair of secateurs or wire cutters/ pliers to cut the
willow and plenty of room to move around (willow is long it’s easier to knock
things over) A ruler
You will need somewhere to soak the willow e.g. a bath, old
paddling pool, pond, makeshift container covered in plastic sheeting, large
bucket/ tub. Some large towels/ or a sheet.
Buff (stripped) willow takes 2 days to prepare Brown willow
(with bark, suitable for going outside) takes 6 days)
If you choose buff willow then it is also good to have a water sprayer or damp sponge to hand.
Please note the postage price will be calculated on the number of items being posted by size and weight, a parcel for one person on average cost £7.
If you wish to collect from me ( I live near Southampton Airport) or you can collect from a convenient SC market when they are open if you choose that option there will be no charge for postage.
