Silke Bridgman is our December feature vendor and we absolutely love her handmade and beautifully unique products.
Silke has been to many of our markets selling her wares which prove to be really popular with the local shoppers of Romsey.
Silke explains how Made at the Hilltop Barn came to be:
“Made at the Hilltop Barn sells beautiful handmade gifts, accessories and decorations. Inspired by childhood German seasonal crafts, from Easter to Christmas, as well as animals and nature, all the products are made by me, I create every item to make sure they are all special and beautifully made”.
James, Silke’s husband adds, “Silke has been creating handmade items for the past 10 years, she uses felting, fine crochet work, sewing, knitting, air dried clay, beading, stamping and other techniques to create individual pieces with great attention to detail. Most larger pieces take many hours to make”.
As you would expect, Silke’s workshop is at The Hilltop Barn, 5 minutes from Romsey. As well as being a regular at the Romsey Makers Market, she also sells online and cat themed items in the Romsey Cat Cafe, Paws for Thought.
Apart from a human family, Silke lives with 2 cats, 2 bunnies, a dog and an occasional hedgehog visitor.
If you have any questions, or would like to commission a piece, please have a chat with Silke at one of the markets or get in touch via email, Facebook or Instagram!
